Welcome back to Open-Minded Healing. Today, we're going to be discussing one of the active ingredients in aloe vera, which is also one of the most studied and has been proven to have profound health benefits. This ingredient is a polysaccharide known as acemannan. My guest today, who will be taking a highly educated dive into this topic, is Dr Reg McDaniel, who is currently the Director of Research at Wellness Quest. Reg's prominent past experience includes positions as the Director of Pathology and Laboratories and Director of Medical Education at Dallas Fort Worth Medical Center. He also aided in the work of scientists that had isolated the active principle of the aloe vera plant called Acemannan, and this work was later recognized by the American Naturopathic Medical Association with the Discovery of the Year Award.

Speaker 1

Welcome, reg, thank you. I know it's not easy to share decades of research in a one-hour podcast, but we can still get into some very exciting aspects of how Ace Manon can help bring a person's body back into homeostasis without adverse side effects or toxicity like drugs have been known to do. So do you want to start by talking about this component of the aloe leaf and how it benefits our bodies in a nutritional way that is vital.

Speaker 2

Well, it started in August of 1985 when a small company called AvaCare sold 12 aloe vera leaf gel products and they were primarily lotions, potions, creams and salves for your skin, which I had no problem with, because I grew up on a cotton farm down in Abbott, texas, and my mother kept a aloe plant in the kitchen to break a leaf off and put the gel from the leaf on any kind of insect bite or blister or defect in the skin. It seemed like it healed faster, didn't get infected. About a 5,000-year history, all the way back to the Egyptians, through the Greeks, the Macedonians, the Romans and then the British Empire, of utilizing the aloe vera and saying folk medicine. In fact it is in the 2 AD. Clini the Elder of Rome published a paper about drinking the aloe juice and had about 35 benefits that could come from this. And the reason I know it with this little company, a trade name called Carollo, and they had a bottle, 32-ounce bottle, what they called aloe vera beverage, and the owner of this company, mr Clinton Howard.

Speaker 2

In the years 84, 85, he had short little notes in the mail from seven different individuals that basically said I have this new disease called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, which we call AIDS and I was on my deathbed because nobody knew what caused this and there was no treatment. I drank your aloe juice and now I'm back at school or at work and I thought you'd want to know. Well, he came to my office at Dallas-Fort Worth Medical Center and told me that and I sat there respectfully, but I internally was saying, hogwash, this stuff from the aloe. Anyway, this is some kind of placebo effect. But I did not at that time realize there were seven individuals from seven different states and big cities. He wanted me to be a medical consultant to this new company he had formed called Carrington Laboratories and he had raised $20 million from investors with the idea of finding out what it is in the aloe that is doing this and make a new drug with it, working with the Food and Drug Administration. But the FDA was asking for things heavily in Latin and Greek terms and then the academic institutions were answering in the same language and he didn't understand it and he wanted me, with my medical education, to interpret this for him.

Speaker 2

I kept saying no, no, no, because I didn't think that the aloe juice was going to have any benefit for this new disease of unknown cause and no treatment. Well, I finally said, yes, I'll do this for you. And we gathered 15 new patients from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and started giving them the juice from the aloe and, finally, a powder that was concentrated from the aloe leaf gel. And lo and behold, much to my amazement, these 15 patients improved 72% in 90 days. I had found a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine written by Robert Redfield, a medical doctor at a big hospital for the military in Washington DC, and I contacted him and told him that we used his criteria and that, using this, that they had improved 72% in 90 days. And he was surprised because he said I just wrote this to try to predict how much longer they would live before they died. Well, this blew me away.

Speaker 2

That happened in the fall of 1985, under regulations of the state of Texas. Well, in February my phone rang and it was the FDA and they said we received this application that you have there to give this material from the aloe vera plant and we want you to know it's on clinical hold, the aloe vera plant, and we want you to know it's on clinical hold. Don't do anything until we've had all these meetings we need to have with you and everything that you've got to do before you give it to patients. So I says we've already done the study and we're waiting for biostatisticians to tell us the benefits. Well, they exploded at the FDA and told me how I had violated laws and all and they would have to have a meeting about what they were going to do with me. Well, I pointed out that the law had been changed and this was all done with the Department of Health in Texas, that all the patients were from Texas and that this was done under a Texas thing.

Speaker 2

Well, one of the things I think you would be interested in is that a fraction that is produced inside the aloe vera leaf gel, that's called ACE manning acetylated mannose acts differently than any other drug that is used for infectious purposes. Any other drug that is used for infectious purposes. It does not interfere with the biochemistry of the little bacteria or the virus particles or the fungus. We found out from orphanages in Africa that chronic malaria in children, that these children that had episodic fever, chills and red cell destruction and would die. The World Health Organization says that the number one cause of death among children on planet Earth is chronic malaria.

Speaker 2

Well, this Ace Manning from the aloe plant, they quit having the fever chills and red cells. They started growing, got out of bed, went back to school and in fact we got reports that they exceeded in athletics in these academic institutions. This does not interfere with the biochemistry of these infectious agents. It boosts the body's host defenses, not only the white cell activity but the substances in the serum like antibodies and acute reactive phase proteins that are anti-infectious. So when you have a drug that is effective against them, the genes in the infectious agent can develop resistance. Deans in the infectious agent can develop resistance Well with this.

Speaker 1

There's no development of resistance because you're boosting the body's reaction against a disease and trying to kill something off. You're just improving the immune system's own ability to heal the body through nutrition that's non-toxic.

Speaker 2

You got it and we thought we had the most incredible boosting molecule and we were still thinking about drugs. But in phase one of the FDA they are primarily testing against various animal mice, rats, cats, dogs and they want to know how much of this material it takes to kill half the animals. It's called an LD50. And how much does it take to kill all of the animals, or an LD100? Every drug has to have this. For example, the father of pharmacology and I say Western pharmacology because in India and the Orient for a thousand years they'd been doing things in the area of pharmacology with natural products Paracelsus' most famous statement was all drugs are poisons. The benefit depends on the dose and that's the basis of this LD50 and LD100. You have to have a wide window between 50 and 100 or they won't let you proceed further. Well, in routine and extended safety studies or toxicity studies, with the FDA we could not kill anything and even some of the institutions found out 3,000 milligrams a day of this Ace Manning to undergraduate students at the University of Texas. Nobody had any toxicity. And ultimately, down in Houston, the ever-reliable research animal called a medical student we had 50 of them that we had sterile ace manning and injected it IV and all it did is boost the body's immune reactions and we didn't harm any of them. Well, because we could not give the FDA an LD50 and LD100, we couldn't kill anything. The company application for new drugs was thrown out, because this is heresy to have all the benefits we were finding. And about this time we started hearing from individuals that added this to their diet that their allergies, their autoimmune diseases and especially asthma improved and went away all the symptoms of it. Well, in these conditions the immune system is overactive and here it is suppressing this immune reaction. And here we were thinking we had the most incredible stimulant to host defenses and we were very confused about what is going on. So there was a conference in Europe that for a week they were studying how the body's defense mechanism returned on and turned off. And so I went to it and I found out a very fundamental and really simple thing and it applies to multiple things that happen in the body, applies to multiple things that happen in the body is that nutrient molecules are needed to turn on and increase the body's defenses and required in cellular synthesis to bring it back to watchful waiting or down to the normal level. And this is not a new idea.

Speaker 2

The individual scientist that has the designation as the father of human physiology, dr Hans Selye, called this balance between cells that we're talking about homeostasis. And so this ace man in molecule was found out by these academic institutions that nine molecules of it in the second major step of cellular synthesis, called endoplasmic reticulum, are hooked together in three chains to make a domain on the surface of all cells in the body and all organs, and this domain is dedicated to the S1 phase of cells. Cells have a cycle that they go through, and the first one I call good housekeeping stage, this S1, because the genes are turned on to get everything inside the cell in the normal range, to decrease it or increase it, which Dr Selye called homeostasis or balance and harmony, deviations from normal for human communication, form profiles or patterns that we call diseases or syndromes. Well, I just told you something that's very important that when you're taking something and adding it to your diet to get into homeostasis, you get rid of diseases and syndromes, and so by adding this to the diet, the spectrum of different diseases and syndromes are eliminated because the cells are in balance or in the normal zone, and that is one of the things that has been so surprising about this active ingredient from aloe that has been used by human beings for over 5,000 years. We finally realized that this was nutrition.

Speaker 2

And lo and behold, the federal government, under pressure from multiple sources, in 1994 passed some legislation called the Dietary Supplement, health and Education Act of 94.

Speaker 2

And this created the dietary supplement industry in the United States.

Speaker 2

And here we had all this information about this molecule from aloe that had been rejected as a drug in the FDA and it finally dawned on us we had an agent that is classified as a dietary supplement ingredient because it's utilized in cellular synthesis, it's not toxic and when cells all move to the homeostasis zone, that's very good for optimal health. Because in the DNA program of our chromosomes if you recall the double helix, that there are 64 double chromosome chains that are 23 pairs hooked together, half of them from the mother, half of them from the father's family the mother, half of them from the father's family and the code in there is sometimes more powerful than the code that's in your cell phone or this computer that we're talking to each other on. I would say it's somewhere between 10 and 100 times more powerful with its capacity to take nutrient molecules, assemble them together in cellular synthesis to make compounds that run the biochemistry of life, and that includes not only turning on things but turning off things, which are very healthy.

Speaker 1

So let me see if I can kind of reiterate what you said and see if I got this right. So the DNA holds the code for our bodies, for optimal health, basically, overall, and the way that you keep that DNA operating at an optimal way is by basically feeding it the right nutrition. Yes, so okay, so you need the proper inventory of nutrition to feed the DNA so it can operate your body and maintain optimal health. And this nutrition that you're feeding the DNA is, is it basically feeding the cells, the trillions of cells in our body, and that's what keeps our body functioning.

Speaker 2

That's right. All the cells of the different organs have these genes that tell them what to do and what to make. But all of these are nutrient molecules, different ones, hooked together to do the function that is needed.

Speaker 1

So, as far as getting the right nutrients into our bodies, I'm guessing. You know, thousands of years ago we were made to perform optimally, our bodies were made to function in that way. So what is it? Do you think that is missing? What are people missing as far as nutrition these days, that Ace Manon can provide? That we're not getting by just eating what we consider healthy food.

Speaker 2

Well, I've taken this ACE-man and molecule and added to it nutrient molecules that are low, missing or avoided by choice in the American food chain and I call it New Eden. And when you take it it's to provide what is not in the inventory for the sales that you're talking about is not in the inventory for the cells that you're talking about. Most people are not aware that in our early years every cell that we have in our body has a little polyadenine tail which is a timer about how long it should last. For example, the cells that line our GI tract from our esophagus down to the rectum because of the friction of the food moving along, it's replaced about every 7 to 10 days with new cells. Our skin is replaced about every two weeks. Our red cells have a lifespan with this little timer of about 90 to maybe 110 to 15 days and in our early years up to probably 35 or 40, they say about every seven years. There's not a cell in our body that was there before that's been replaced. It's kind of a preventive maintenance program. If a cell gets old or is poorly functioning, a message is sent between the cells to send a stem cell from the bone marrow to that place and macrophages destroy the old, aged and damaged cell and this stem cell replaces it and differenti differentiates, just like in the embryo. This is why, with Ace Manning, we have taken people off the transplant list for new organs for heart, for liver, for kidneys and even lungs because the body has built into it the information, if you have the nutrients to do it, to replace our body. Unfortunately, this slows down as we age. However, if you add the ACE man into your diet, we have data now that you keep generating new stem cells to replace aged and damaged cells and this is very good because it's supporting the engineering and design of life that is coded in the DNA.

Speaker 2

In the year 2000, with a researcher in San Antonio, texas, we had 260 people that were over 50 that added the ace manin in their diet and they reverted to mental and physical activities. They had given up 5, 10, and 15 years before and we were measuring objective bowel markers associated with the disabilities of aging that were developed by Tufts Medical School in Boston and John Hopkins for the federal government when they discovered after World War II that people were living longer and getting benefits from Social Security, and these people in this study went back to square, dancing, playing golf, tennis, travel. They started going back to church instead of watching on TV. And actually, the happiest people in this group of aging people were those people that had gotten so old. They had given up sexual relations. Well, that's a young person's activity very complex physiology and psychophysiology. They went back to this. I have to say they're the happiest of all these people. Well, these stem cells being generated make this possible.

Speaker 2

Well, one of these individuals was 72 years old and a retired dentist up in Wichita, kansas, and he said I am living so active and all I'm going to have my telomeres measured. And so, though he was 72 years old, he had telomeres of a 40 to 45-year-old individual. Now, telomeres are caps on the ends of the chromosomes that protect the DNA from damage. Telomeres are long in people that live to be 90 and 100 and older, and in those families that people die from a chronic disease such as type 2 diabetes or heart failure between, say, 55 and 70 have short telomeres. In addition to this, animals with short lifespans have short telomeres. Animals with long lifetime have long telomeres. Well, what this dentist found out is that not only was his biomarkers that of a younger person, but his telomeres were that of a younger person.

Speaker 2

Well, I was sitting here in between Dallas and Fort Worth and I've been taking this active ingredient, ace Manning known, since 1985. I think I'll have my telomeres measured. At that time I was 75 years old and my telomeres were that of a 30 to 40-year-old. Wow, that was encouraging.

Speaker 2

I have a brother that was in special forces in Europe for over a decade and they have incredible conditioning activities that they go through. They even swam across the English Channel. So he had this history of very intense exercise and his telomeres were that of a 25 to 35-year-old. So I said, hmm, that might be important. Well, I knew of a physician in California that I think is a little bit screwed up in the head because he wants to run triathlons and if you recall it's running and swimming and bicycling and he does about three triathlons a year and he's even done the Ironman in Hawaii and finished it. So he has very intense exercise and he's been taking our New Eden formulation that increases the inventory of nutrients on a long ongoing basis. And we did his telomeres and they were that of a 10 to 15-year-old.

Speaker 1

And how old was he when he tested his telomeres?

Speaker 2

He was 57 at the time. To follow up on this, I had an individual in Arizona that was a lady and she was 72 years old and she wanted her telomeres done and so it was sent to Houston to the laboratory. And so it was sent to Houston to the laboratory and it comes back to me that she's about 10 to 15 years old telomeres, very long telomeres. My first thought was lab error. So I contacted Houston and I says what about your controls and your standards, and all for this batch of assays for telomeres? And they said they're all correct. So with great trepidation I get the telephone and I call this lady thinking that there's something wrong here, and she said well, that's very nice, because I swim three miles three times a week as my exercise program, just like the triathlon in California. And we're finding out that to add the active ingredient from the aloe, the ace manin, to an exercise program is synergistic. What do we mean by synergistic? Two plus two is more than four. You get a boost.

Speaker 2

In the year 2000, the National Geographic Society gave five different grants to an individual named Dan Buechner, and the purpose of these grants were to search on planet Earth for clusters of people that live into their 90s independently and over 100. And he reports on nine different places which tend to be islands and peninsulas, away from big population centers. In other words, processed food hasn't gotten to them. The first site that Dan Buettner found was the island of Sardinia, which is in the Mediterranean Sea, just west of Italy, and he found a PhD researcher that was going up into the mountains and studying the people there, because they live to their 90s and over 100. What was going on up there? And he found out one. They were living just about like in Roman times. What do I mean? They didn't have electricity, they didn't have gasoline motors. Anything they did, they did it with their labor. And if you went anywhere, you walked and they herded animals and they had personal gardens. And it took me about, I'd say, 10 to 15 years to understand why it's so important to have a personal garden. Well, when I was a young fellow in the 1940s, nearly all the grocery stores were owned by a local family and they had no fruits or vegetables more than about 50 to 100 miles away during the local growing season.

Speaker 2

What has changed since the 1940s? What has changed since the 1940s? We have national markets and grocery stores and agribusiness supplies what they have in their stores for fruits and vegetables. Now, instead of just during the growing season, I can go down to the market and I can have watermelons, cantaloupes, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries all these things 12 months of the year. How is this possible? Well, agribusiness follows the growth zones across the continent and they go in there and they harvest the fruits and vegetables, but they harvest them green, where they will have a shipping life and shelf life to get to the grocery store.

Speaker 2

When you harvest, when the fruits and vegetables are green, the principal molecule in them is chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is an incredible, important compound in the biology of life, but it's just not required in cellular synthesis to make bioactive molecules, to run the biochemistry of life, and only does it start to put these nutrient molecules in when it begins to ripen on the plant. In the past they would throw the plant-matured fruits and vegetables on the ground because they couldn't ship them. But now you can race them to the commercial freeze dryer and make the fruits and vegetables to a powder, and in this powder you have the nutrients that our genes call for in cellular synthesis, that our genes call for in cellular synthesis, and it adds to the inventory of what can be produced in compounds to run the bulk chemistry of life.

Speaker 2

Well, that is the power of the dietary supplements under the new law that has been passed.

Speaker 2

And the new law the Dietary Supplemental, health and Education Act that was originally passed had a preamble that, and I paraphrase, says science and medicine has determined that optimal nutrition is essential for good health, to prevent disease and to restore health.

Speaker 2

Well, I was among the people that celebrated this statement in the new law, but I had a constitutional attorney inform me you're not quite right, because the preamble is not part of the law. The preamble is just a statement of why the congressmen and the senators considered and had hearings of this legislation. In the law, in the labeling section, and I paraphrase again, it states only an FDA-approved pharmaceutical drug can claim or represent to treat, cure or ameliorate a disease, a syndrome, or correct an abnormal health condition. That is the law and it is not the truth. It is a tribute to the power and influence of the pharmaceutical industry and conventional medicine and, unfortunately, by law, can't tell the public what this dietary supplement New Eden that I've developed over the years, to increase the inventory, to promote better health, supporting the engineering and design of life instead of poisoning it with a drug.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's really incredible what you said.

Speaker 2

I never cease to be amazed at what the power of more comprehensive nutrition if you provide it through your diet to support the coding that is DNA that controls cellular synthesis of these compounds that run the biochemistry and physiology of life.

Speaker 2

And a company in London sent me to Brussels, belgium, twice when the European Common Market was developing the new laws over there for drugs and dietary supplements, and I never made the big meeting there in Brussels, but I met with the English delegation and my thrust was we need definitions of drugs and dietary supplements that are based on science and actually what goes on, which that preamble to the Dietary Supplement Act really tells you. Yeah, that optimal nutrition is essential for good health, to prevent disease and restore health, and that drugs have their benefit, that they interfere with engineering and design of life to suppress symptoms. And an ideal drug is, as long as you take it, you suppress your symptoms and signs and if you quit taking it they come back, because a drug does not address the cause for symptoms that you complain about, whereas the program in engineering and the design of DNA corrects the problems that are causing symptoms if you have the nutrient molecules in the diet or in the inventory for the genes to work with to bring it back to the normal homeostatic status.

Speaker 1

Yes, I mean, everything you have talked about is really quite amazing and it comes from nature. And comparing it to the drugs that, like you say, address a symptom sometimes not always and have toxicity to them, they have all these terrible side effects that you hear even in the commercials, these terrible side effects that you hear even in the commercials. So finding this solution that has no toxicity to it, you know it's not going to harm you, it's only benefiting you and it's only promoting what was natural to begin with in our bodies the natural healing capacity. Healing capacity. It's really quite incredible. So I know we could go on for hours on this topic and also all the other ways that Ace Manon benefits health in powerful ways we haven't even gotten into.

Speaker 1

There are so many more ways it affects the body, but I think you've brought up some of these incredible ones, like increasing the telomere health and aiding in longevity. So I just want to go over that. Also, when you discuss the AIDS epidemic and how that was actually helping people is also incredible among everything else you discussed. But I want to go over a few things. So this New Eden powder that you have created includes the Ace Manon in a I'm guessing in a powerful dose that you wouldn't get just from getting the aloe gel that you see in the marketplace. So maybe discuss that, how it differs from just going to the store and buying that aloe leaf gel or something that you drink out of the market.

Speaker 2

Very important point is that the gel in the plant is called a hydrogel and it's about 95 to 98% water. What we do is take the water out and the solids are the powder that we put in the dietary supplement. There's a principle in biochemistry that if you increase the concentration of what you use in sensual, you can make more of it in less time. And by adding this to the diet, say, of type 2 diabetics, they have non-healing ulcers on their legs and sometimes even osteomyelitis, and by having this more concentrated powder from the aloe plant they heal up those ulcers on the legs and they don't have to amputate them, and that is really significant.

Speaker 2

And another thing is that nearly all your type 2 diabetics have the most resistant obesity of any type of patient. Well, we've had many type 2 diabetics lose anywhere from 25 to 50 pounds and in fact, the record that I saw was a Sioux brave from up in Minnesota, the Sioux Indian. He was 550 pounds and his legs were bluish up to the knees and they had these wounds that would not heal and he even had osteomyelitis and they were going to do double amputation of his legs. I told him how to add this to his diet every day and to supply what the body needs to get to the normal zone. About a year later I saw him. He had lost 150 pounds, his leg ulcers had healed up, even the osteomyelitis and they were pink and they weren't going to amputate his two legs. Well, that's an example of what more comprehensive nutrition can do.

Speaker 1

So this is type 2 diabetes. You're talking about what? About type 1 diabetes?

Speaker 2

type 1 diabetes. We have shown that, if you get them early enough, that apparently the stem cells migrate into the pancreas and replace the beta cells that were destroyed by apparently a virus and their requirement for insulin goes down, down, down, down and we've had type 1 diabetic children that no longer have any evidence of diabetes because the stem cells migrate into the pancreas and replace the beta cells that are the source for making insulin. And you said something about creating New Eden. I hasten to add that I tell everyone the truth. I have discovered nothing new. I haven't invented anything. I am just a messenger and servant, hopefully trying to tell people that the more comprehensive nutrition is the pathway to better health, by supporting the engineering and design of life with nutrient molecules instead of poisoning the engineering and design of life with pharmaceutical drugs. Again, it should not be very comforting to know that the FDA requires an LD50 and LD100 for all drugs, and if you can't do that, you're kicked out. Well, a simple way to look at what we found in the aloe plant is an extension of the vitamin discovery era. It's not over that this ace manin, which is non-toxic, which the body utilizes in cellular synthesis, if you accept it as a extension of the vitamin discovery era. It is a super vitamin because it is functioning on the membrane of all cells to move to homeostasis, which is a very powerful state of good health and eliminates diseases and syndromes.

Speaker 2

And you say well that statement in the FDA that only a drug can be used for diseases, syndromes and correct the thing.

Speaker 2

What I say is we do not treat or cure any kind of disease, syndrome or abnormal condition. What we do is simply improve the inventory of nutrients that the cells have to work with and then it's turned over to the program that is in the genes, which is in a microcosmos of molecules, elements, ions and atoms that is too small for human participation or intervention, that we turn it over to this microcosmos of how the cells work. In fact, as a cell you can't even see it unless you stain it and put it under the microscope and see the parts of it and you can't even see under the light microscope the assembly line that's inside of it. That you have to have electron microscopy and special stains to see the one, two, three process for how the nutrients are hooked together, to make these compounds, to make the normal biochemistry and physiology of life. That can only work if you increase the inventory of what the cells need to make these compounds inventory of what the cells need to make these compounds.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, that's really amazing. So there's so much going on in your body when you're ingesting Ace Manon that you couldn't possibly see. You might not even feel it right for a while. Let me ask you this when you take the New Eden, which has the Ace Manon in it in the right powerful quantity and you also added some other ingredients which we'll get into but when someone takes this say, someone has an autoimmune disease or some other disease how much of this are they taking? How long does it take to start benefiting them? Can you give some information on that?

Speaker 2

Yes, I can, on the label and I hold this New Eden up for you to see and it's a bulk, and I get complaints even from my wife it's a physician that it's not in a tablet or a capsule. But I want to keep it in bulk to emphasize just like you have flour in the kitchen and you have sugar in the kitchen and the salt that this is a nutrition, this is not a medication. And I mentioned the grants of the National Geographic Society that they found these blue zones for longevity and good health. Well, we've been into the biochemistry and science of why the blue zones exist and on the label it has only 14 ingredients. One of them is the aloe powder. That's just one thing. But I can show you with instrumentation that in the new processing of the aloe powder that there are approximately 250 different nutrient molecules in the physiology of the plant to make this Asemanin. And each one of these 14 ingredients probably have anywhere from 100 to 200 or more different nutrient molecules from the plant that our cells utilize in cellular synthesis. Before the year 2000, the processing we had for the aloe plant powder, which is one I know the most about, we only got the acetylated mannose. However, in the new processing. All these different molecules that are vitamins, and different stages of development of amino acids, fatty acids and carbohydrates that the plant is synthesizing are included in this.

Speaker 2

And this is true for the other plant source things in it, because the common denominators that are present in all these blue zones that they've found? Number one is primarily a plant-based diet. Well, new Eden has nothing but molecules from plants in it. Number two is activity, and in these blue zones they don't go to the gym. They are primitive areas where you don't have motors and electricity, and you get activity every day. If you go anywhere, you walk. That's good exercise. The third common thing is that all the blue zones have personal gardens, and I have a book here that is written by Dan Brutner and he points out that in the blue zones, all these individuals have a purpose in life and that that is extremely important life. And that is extremely important and it's even more important in the modern society because he says, unless you have a purpose in life, you will not do the nutrient diet and the exercise in planting your own garden and eating plant maturematured fruits and vegetables. You won't do these things unless you're thinking about. I want to be at graduation for my grandchildren, or I want to be there when they have their first baby or when they get married that you need interaction with your family, your extended family, your community, that all these things add to a purpose in life, particularly in the modern society. You have to have a spark that is driving you to do the things that are necessary for longevity and good health. And, as I point out, I haven't discovered anything new.

Speaker 2

All of this technology is old as life itself, in fact, in the old Hebrew text of the Bible. You find verses there that hint to the importance of the plants. In Ezekiel it talks about that the fruits and vegetables are food for man. But it ends with the New Testament, in Revelations 22.2,. It talks about the water that flows underneath the throne, inside the Holy of Holies in the Jewish temple, and this water flows out down the streets to the creeks and the rivers, into the gardens and the archers, and it's so fertilizing that they produce every month. And it ends with the words and the leaves of the trees shall be for the healing of the nations. Well, in my background you see aloe leaves that have been put there, because I've been involved in the research on the leaves of the plants since 1985.

Speaker 2

But I have to tell you the truth that I haven't found out or developed anything new. All I am is a messenger and a servant to try to tell you how important it is. You don't have to move to an isolated island or peninsula. Anywhere you live, you can do all these things that are required and it's interesting that just adding this New Eden to your diet accomplishes about 90% of the benefits for improving your longevity and your quality of life. And if you add to that exercise program, there's synergism, that they work together to improve your generation of stem cells, the length of the telomeres that are on the end of your chromosomes that protect your DNA, end of your chromosomes that protect your DNA, which may be one of the reasons we see such good results. That has happened with people that have abnormal cells growing and that, adding this to the diet, the biochemistry is activated and the genes can operate the programs to search for, attack and destroy abnormal cells in the body.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so it has a little scooper in the container. How many scoops is someone taking per day?

Speaker 2

Well, that's a good question and I wish I knew the answer, because it seems to vary with individuals, because everyone's genes are different, everyone's diet is different, every family has a different health history and each individual's have a health history, so that varies. But in the 1990s and early 2000s we would tell people if you're not going to take this 120 days, please don't start, because it takes a long time for all the genetic activity and cellular synthesis to take place. But with the new processing, where we have over 250 different nutrient molecules, I have people come to me in two to four weeks just ranting and raving about how wonderful this is, that they feel 10, 15 years younger, that they're living longer, that they don't need naps in the afternoon, that they wake up early in the morning, they work all day and their quality of life is greatly eliminated because we have increased the inventory of nutrient molecules by this new processing. That is in New Eden. And if you put a scoop in different flavors of yogurt at breakfast, lunch and noon, you can get many of these benefits. Lunch and noon you can get many of these benefits. And if you have a real serious health problem, I tell people that they ought to take two scoops at each meal and two scoops at bedtime for at least the first month, and then you try to find out what amount has to be taken to continue to improve on scans or x-rays. Or you can palpate masses in your body sometimes and you want to take the amount that keeps them reducing in size.

Speaker 2

I think of a fellow that had a malignant lymphoma in his neck that he could feel and when he came to me at Thanksgiving it was, I'd say, the size of a 50-cent piece or a quarter in there and you could feel it. But when he came to me at Christmas it was big as a silver dollar and really bulged out. And I had said you've got to go to a physician and work with an oncologist but you ought to take this because the combination of standard therapy combined with more comprehensive nutrition, as is available in this New Eden, the therapy is much more efficient. You have more normal cells in your body than you have of these abnormal cells and these normal cells you can program into them through the DNA, the information to search for, attack and destroy abnormal cells. And combined with the chemo, this oncologist from the Mayo I've heard him give his PowerPoint presentation on his 100 patient series that he did that had different forms of cancer that he ends with.

Speaker 2

This combination of more comprehensive nutrition for the normal cells and the chemo that is designed to attack the abnormal cells is a revolution in quality of life for the individual while being treated and also for long-term benefits.

Speaker 2

And I have an email that, if somebody would like to have more information about this, it is capital R and then locates everything else rmcdaniel, m-c-d-a-n-i-e-l, at wellnessquest, w-e-l-l-n-e-s-s-q-e-s-t, dot, o-r-g, and if you tell me what your problem is, I'll be happy to return an email to you about the information I have on my computer about the benefits which I have sent you some of it page of their manuscript that they publish. They give tribute to our key papers that we did, sponsored by Carrington Laboratories, when we were trying to get through the FDA in the 80s and 90s, and they go and repeat and validate everything that we have seen. This is independent validation, everything that we have seen. This is independent validation. And they go further and it's a type of research that I never had the source of research funds to formally validate. Well, they validate it and go further. This is the type of information I never thought would exist in my lifetime of information I never thought would exist in my lifetime.

Speaker 1

Well, that's amazing that people can reach out to you in that way if they do have some issue or chronic health problem, and get more answers, possibly from you. And where can people buy New Eden?

Speaker 2

You can get it on a website which is wwwwellnessquestorg and, if you'll notice there, there are two ways to get a 20% discount. One is to buy five canisters at one time and that takes about $500. However, you can use your credit card to get a monthly supply and you also get a 20% discount. Plus, we give a free bottle of bifidobacteria to give an incentive to sign up for a minimum of six months of 20% discount. The highest level of study that we've done was with the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in Florida and in cooperation with the Miami Health Service. We awakened Alzheimer's patients and they improved memory and cognition in 69% of the patients of early, mid and advanced. In fact, the best patient of all was mute for two years. They had to bathe him and put food in his mouth, tell him to chew it and swallow it. After six months he was up, shaving, dressing himself, going to the cafeteria. He remembered all his family members. This is a man that had been mute for two years. His wife was just ecstatic with joy over the fact she never thought she would communicate with him again and, as the director of research said, he looked us straight in the eye and said and he remembers business deals from over 10 years ago what in the world is going on? Well, at that time all we could tell him was all cells and all organs function better with more comprehensive nutrition that increases the inventory of nutrient molecules that in cellular synthesis are hooked together to make the compounds to run the biochemistry and physiology of life. Now we know, and in the data, that we increase stem cell production close to 400%. Stem cell production close to 400%.

Speaker 2

And up in Canada I was asked to come up there because they had seven fetal alcohol syndrome damaged children that were in special education had been taken away from their mothers and placed with foster parents and they were behavior problems in school and at home and were making no progress in special education.

Speaker 2

Their average IQ for the seven patients was less than 50. All of a sudden these children started behaving in school and at home and making progress in their special education. So they redid their IQ evaluations and they ranged from 80 to over 100. They asked me to come to Canada and explain how this was possible, while I had been using this domain on the surface of the cells as the mechanism of action of this aloe ace magnet for a number of years, but this just didn't seem to be adequate for how the IQ of these alcohol-damaged children was improving. Well, that's where we were able to show that stem cells were increased, they migrated into the brain and replaced alcohol-damaged cells and improved their intelligent quotients. We also had young and also adult cerebral palsy patients that by adding this to their diet, they were able to do mental and physical activities they had never done in their life, because these stem cells migrate into the brain, just like the stem cells potentially can migrate into any organ that it's not functioning properly and replace dead or damaged cells and differentiate and restore function.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's incredible. I mean there are so many different ways that can benefit people. Clearly, although we aren't able to touch on every single one of them, I mean you've gone over some really major ones that people deal with in incredible ways that it's able to affect people's health. I mean those are all amazing ways you've discussed.

Speaker 2

Usually. In all, there were about 50 researchers that helped on this in these 10 academic institutions. I'm the only one that's still focused on this. Most of them actually have died. Because I'm here talking to you, I'm 88 years old and I have telomeres of a 30 to 40-year-old, and I certainly have a purpose in life to try to inform as many people as possible. And they don't have to move to a blue zone or isolated island or peninsula. This can be done wherever you live, by adding this New Eden to your life and getting involved in exercise.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's great. It's a great way to wrap it up by saying you take this New Eden and continue taking it, because it does take time to enter your body properly and do its job. So take it for a year and see what kind of benefits that I'm sure you'll be amazed to find are happening in your body, as well as the accompanying exercise. So between those two things you'll be doing probably pretty darn well. And again, just go to the website that was mentioned and I'll put it in the show notes so people can just look at that to know how to contact you and how to order the product and find more information. But thank you so much for all of your time today. This has been so exciting to hear about what all this component of this aloe leaf can do for our well-being. Our bodies are meant to function optimally and this can really empower that for sure. Thank you so much for this wealth of knowledge that you've shared and for being here today. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
